The Financial Risks of Using a DreamHost Coupon

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Of course, there is no such thing as a free lunch and any discount offer will have financial risks attached to it. In order to be eligible for the DreamHost coupon discounts, you are required to sign long-term contracts for either a twelve or a twenty-four month period. Early termination of these contracts on behalf of the purchaser may incur financial penalty charges.

This is only to be expected, as the hosting service provider is there to make money from the service. The discounts available are a marketing strategy to secure long-term customers, rather than as a financial favor for their customers. This means that should you be unsatisfied with the service provided; for example, the host server is prone to large amounts of downtime when clients cannot access your website, or one is able to resource a better financial package elsewhere, your options for changing your service provider is limited. However, for the majority of websites using hosting service providers, these are often risks worth taking for the monetary savings made.

What Are the Downsides of Using a Bluehost Coupon?

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

The obvious downside of signing up to a webhosting provider using a discount offer such as the BlueHost coupon, is that in order to receive the best deal, you are signing up to a long-term contract. Should you decide that you want to terminate this contract before its expiration date, for what ever the reason – unhappy with the service, found a better offer with a rival hosting provider, closure of your business, or no longer in need a website provider, could mean that you are left with additional contract termination costs.

This may seem unfair however; webhosting providers are a commercial business in their own rights and as such exist to make a profit. Signing service users up to a long-term contract is one way of securing long-term customers and income. Unfortunately, having termination penalties applied to discounted, long-term contracts such as those offered by bluehost is the risk you take to obtain the discount. However, for the majority of customers this risk is negligible and will use the same webhosting provider for several years.
